Purpose & Mission
Farming + Gardens To tackle food insecurity and waste while promoting sustainable community development, Lucille’s 1913 launched its farming initiative in 2022. The primary hub is located in Kendleton, TX, a historic farming community that has become a food desert, originally settled by emancipated slaves after the Civil War. In partnership with Ft. end county Judges office, Ft. Bend county Parks Department and Commissioner Dexter McCoys office, we have created a completely free resource to the residents of Kendleton and beyond. This include growing culturally considerate produce, offering "Upicks" as well as seasonal distributions at no cost to the residents of Ft. Bend County and beyond
The soil is the great connector of our lives, the source and destination of all.
